okay so welcome to today’s articles today we’re just
gonna go over ten plugins and 10 WordPress plugins.
that I highly recommend because no matter which
type of WordPress site you have you’re gonna need
some plug-ins you know it’s just eventually you’re
gonna need them no way around it unless you
wanna like code everything yourself and you
know that just ain’t it happening okay so I’m not
the type to use a lot of plugins I think less is
more so every plugin that I’m recommending to you
is hand-picked for a very good and specific
the reason so and I highly recommend them so
Code Snippets
let me share them with you okay so the first
one is code snippets okay code snippets are a
way it’s a way to integrate code into
your site easily in a more organized fashion
because a lot of times you have to integrate
code in your site you have to go to your source
files for example you may have to edit your
index.php files you know your function files
header and footer files and things like that
a lot of times people don’t know what they’re
doing on that people don’t want to dig into the
code like that they may not know what they’re
doing they may not want to do it it becomes
messy a lot of times you can put code in there
and it becomes like no man’s land to
even if you’re not using that code
you forget to go back in and remove the code and
it’s just a mess it can become a mess so with code
snippets this is a more easy and organized way
to manage your code and activate code for example
you have your snippets I can put some snippets
right here and you see right now I have two
snippets activated like I have a clarity snippet
which is an analytics tracking tool a visual
analytics tracking tool by Microsoft
and I’ll go over that in a separate video
and have a custom login snippet that I created
to change the login of my WordPress site reason
I did that because a lot of bots and hackers
can try to hit the default login of WordPress so
i felt to change it you know because of that
reason just a lesser risk so you get the idea
and if you want to turn your code on and off you
can do so you have a good visual listing of which
codes you have activated you can delete
it you can export it you can clone it
you get the gist it’s just a better management of
code with WordPress.
Contact Form 7
contact form 7 no matter what type of site you
have you’re going to have to have some way or you
should have some way for people to contact you
that should be one of your basic administrative
pages and contact form 7 i’ve been using this
contact form for years and i highly recommend it
it’s very reliable it’s very easy to set up very
intuitive and it’s a good choice for a contact form
that a lot of WordPress users use okay.
EWWW Image Optimizer
now next i have the Ewww image optimizer images we all love
images they can be a beautiful thing but the thing
is images are the main culprits for killing one of
the main culprits next to the video that kills the
life out of your page speed so if you are
aware of the importance of page speed
especially with the google core web vital update
then you know that you need to optimize your
images in some way, okay and this really helps
you do so it helps me to do so now i will say
i always believe in optimizing your images as much
as possible before you ever even upload the images
to your site okay so i believe in optimizing it
and resizing it and doing all you can upfront
on the front end before you upload the images
but this really helps you optimize it even more
if need be and also i really use this
because it helps to convert my existing images and
images that i upload into webp format which is a
new lighter weight a more modern image format over
jpeg or png so this automatically converts those
jpeg png files to webp format.
Maintenance
next i have this maintenance plugin maintenance plugin
that’s just good to have you may have a
a temporary time where maybe your site’s down or
you just need to work on your site for a bit
and you don’t want to work on your site it’s
unprofessional to have your site live and
you’re working on it and making changes and
just put it in maintenance mode for a minute or
whatever works on your site it’ll give on the
front-end it’ll give that visitor a page
hey the site is in maintenance come back in
30 minutes whatever the site will be back up
soon it’s just good to have that maintenance page
and this maintenance plugin really helps you do
so and i’m going to have all of these linked in
the description because it’s a lot of copycats
plugins with similar names so i’m going to

the reason i have presto player i recently tested this
and hey we talked about images loading slowing
down your site images are nothing compared to
video slowing down your site especially
youtube videos as much as we all love youtube
videos that’s the main culprit that i’ve found
to really kill kill and suck the life out
of your page speed and performance so this is
why i started using presto player because after
using presto player i’ve noticed a jump of at
least 10 to 20 or 30 points on my page speed
by optimizing my videos with presto
player you can optimize youtube videos
vimeo videos or what have you and it really

buttons like if you scroll down to the bottom of
my site you see share this Facebook Twitter
LinkedIn now they have other options like
Pinterest and other social networks we all know a
new social networks’s popping up like every single
day so they have a lot of options and stuff but
i feel just adding three keeps the page load
to a minimum because no matter even though this
is a fast-loading social sharing plug-in
make no mistake about every plugin that you add to your
the site will impact the page speed and performance in
some way now it may not always be noticeable but
for instance you may have a if you drive a truck
you drive a car and you throw a towel wet towel in
the back of your trunk maybe you won’t feel it
but still that tower added a little bit
of weight to your car maybe not a noticeable
maybe nothing so big to impact it but it added
a little weight and if you keep throwing more and
more and more towels in the back of your car
eventually, you’ll start to feel some impact

because i use cloudflare on all my sites currently

delivery network and that helps to speed up the
delivery of your site in different geographical
areas just say especially if your site is a global
type of visitors you may have someone else
someone in the u.s or someone in the uk or some
other part of the world and you want the server to
be the closest to their geographical location so it’ll
load your site and deliver your site quicker to
them that’s what a content delivery network would
do we’ll talk about that in another video but i
use this simply because it plays well with cloudflare
you know optimizes well with cloudflare so
that’s why i chose super page cache for cloudflare .

now we have WordPress wordfence
security WordPress security is real
now WordPress is great but because it’s so
great and because it’s so popular you know
wordpress in case you don’t know WordPress like
powers like 40% of the web right now which is huge
that’s huge and because it’s so popular
because it’s such a giant cms platform
there are a lot of people targeting it a lot of
hackers trying to do malicious things trying to
hack your site you know it’s trying to look for a
weakness especially for new sites going up so you
have to have your security some iron clad
security in place don’t sleep on that because
you will get got now you heard it from me Rich B.
you will get got if you sleep on your wordpress
security make no mistake okay so wordfence is
a good security plugin where you can set it
forget it and it cut down a lot of worries and
headache right there off the bat and i’ll have a

out the box are pretty good but i tweak them you
know to make them even better so this is a great
plugin to have to really put a lock on your
wordpress security.

last but not least we have

copy protection reason i have that it’s a lot of
copycats on the web you know they don’t want to
do the work they just want to come to your site
steal the content that you worked hard to create
or you paid to outsource and have created you
spent your money or you worked hard to create it
The bottom line they want to steal your content and
they want to take the credit and the sad thing
about it is a lot of times they end up
outranking you so it’s a headache and even
if you can fight it and get it taken down you got
to go through that process DMCA takedown notices and all that type of stuff and
maybe they’ll respond maybe they won’t but to cut
out a lot of that bull you can just activate this

it’s acts like a guard dog you know
like see some of those houses where or you may
know a house where it has a beware of the dog

dog there but other people may not know
