How to manage disk usage in the topic of today's video.

We're going to discuss how can you manage disk usage in cPanel.

Be careful about these three points before doing practically.

Why should we track the disk usage?

This is because all the files are stored on the disk

The hosting service provider set a disk usage limit at the time of purchasing the hosting.

So, you must know that you've to renew the disk usage before getting full.

You won't receive all the incoming emails if you don't renew the disk space limit.

As I mentioned in the third point that to avoid losing incoming emails because there's no space to store it.

It means you won't receive new incoming emails when the disk space is full.

So, you must avoid running out of space.

You can remove the extra space cache from the disk usage.

Log in to your website.

This is the layout of the cPanel.

Go to the disk usage in the files section.

You can click on it.

Or you can edit the disk usage from the right side.

Click on the disk usage.

All the statistics on the disk usage by each file will appear.

public_html stores all the files of your website. It is a file root directory.

It has a used space of 516.75 Mb.

The next is the SSL

This lock is called SSL

It has used space of 0.05 MB

Similarly, MySQL data has used 24.45 MB.

The mailing list has not used up space.

So, you can view these to decide which one to delete to free up space.

Like temp. These are temporary files.

If I click on it. All the files in the temp will open.

These are extra files. So, deleting them won't create problems on the website.

Similarly, you can view MySQL to check if there's any extra database.

Because it uses disk space.

If you've a mailing list, it will appear here.

Similarly, if you've other mail accounts, they will be displayed here.

When the disk storage is full, you can delete extra files from this section.

or you can request your service provider to increase the storage of the dick space.

If you scroll down, you will see total disk space. Currently, it is 100 GB.

Scroll down and you will see a message that these figures may not reflect recent changes to your account's disk usage.

All the directories in use will display the used space in MBs and in bytes.

The directories are listed in alphabetical order with their disk usage space.

If you click on the icon, you can access public_html, wp files or wp-admin.

If you don't see some files in the file manager, you can find them in this section.

So, this is the simple procedure to manage your disk usage.

Tho motive behind creating this video is to inform clients who purchase hosting without any knowledge of disk usage.

If the disk usage is full, they have no idea how to remove extra files.

And how to say to the service providers to increase the disk space.

So, whenever, the disk is full, you can request your service provider to increase the limit.

They will upgrade your disk storage with minor charges.
